Editorial & Peer Review Process

Sachetas is committed to upholding the highest standards of academic publishing, adhering to best practices as outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the Open Access Scholarly Publishers Association (OASPA), the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), and Scopus.

1. Initial Screening

Upon submission, the Editor-in-Chief conducts an initial assessment to ensure the manuscript aligns with the journal's scope and meets basic submission criteria. Manuscripts that do not meet these standards are promptly rejected without further review. Those that pass this stage are forwarded to a handling editor for detailed evaluation.

2. Peer Review

The handling editor assigns the manuscript to at least two expert reviewers, ensuring a double-blind peer review process where both authors and reviewers remain anonymous. This evaluation focuses on the manuscript's academic rigor, relevance, and novelty. Reviewers are selected based on their expertise and are expected to adhere to ethical guidelines, including confidentiality and objectivity.

3. First Decision

After receiving at least two review reports, the handling editor, in consultation with the editorial board, makes an initial decision:

  • Acceptance: The manuscript is accepted as is.
  • Minor Revisions: The manuscript is returned to the author(s) for minor revisions.
  • Major Revisions: The manuscript is returned to the author(s) for substantial revisions and may require a second round of peer review.
  • Rejection: The manuscript is rejected.

In cases where reviewer recommendations differ significantly, an additional reviewer may be consulted to provide further insight.

4. Revision Stage

Authors are given up to two weeks to address reviewers' comments and make necessary revisions. The handling editor reviews the revised manuscript to ensure all feedback has been adequately addressed. If revisions are insufficient, the manuscript may be returned for further revision or rejected if additional revisions are deemed unproductive.

5. Final Decision

The revised manuscript undergoes a final evaluation. If it meets the journal's standards, it is accepted for publication. Accepted manuscripts proceed to typesetting, proofreading, and preparation for an upcoming issue. Manuscripts that do not meet the required standards, even after revisions, are rejected.

This editorial process ensures that Sachetas maintains its commitment to academic excellence and integrity, providing readers with high-quality scholarly content.
